Gialamas Wins Best of Wisconsin Business Award

June, 2011, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin - More than 125 of the top business people from around the state of Wisconsin attended Corporate Report Wisconsin's 7th annual Best of Wisconsin Business Awards luncheon on June 10, 2011 at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. This year nearly 2,000 readers cast their votes online to determine platinum, gold and silver winners in each of 28 categories. We are proud to announce that The Gialamas Company Inc. has won the Gold award in the Best of Commercial Real Estate category.

1 Erdman Place earns U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s)
prestigious ENERGY STAR for third year in a row.

January, 2011, Madison, Wisconsin - 1 Erdman Place, owned and managed by The Gialamas Company, has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) prestigious ENERGY STAR, the national symbol for superior energy efficiency and environmental protection for the third consecutive year. 1 Erdman Place achieved LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC in May 2008.

“The Gialamas Company is very proud of our sustainable design and construction practices as part of our ongoing green initiatives and is very pleased to accept EPA’s ENERGY STAR rating for the third consecutive year," says George Gialamas, President.

To earn the ENERGY STAR, building designer and occupant, Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN, tracked all energy purchased and generated on-site (electricity, gas, steam, waste fuels) and on a cost basis. Commercial buildings that earn the ENERGY STAR use an average of 40 percent less energy than typical buildings and also release 35 percent less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The Gialamas Company improves energy performance in all owned developments by managing energy strategically and by making cost effective improvements to already existing buildings.

EPA’s national energy performance rating system provides a 1-100 scale that helps organizations assess how efficiently their buildings use energy relative to similar buildings nationwide.
